This
is the school song for St Cretiens www.stcretiens.com for
whom I have a particular fondness and affection
for. As yet, no words have been written for
it, but I’m sure we can all think of
some...
This
piece depicts the very opening scene of The
Wind in the Willows. Mole gets fed up with
spring-cleaning after a long hibernation so
he scrabbles up through the ground and pushes
his nose out to sniff the fresh air. This in
turn heralds the start of his adventures…
Christ’s Hospital Junior
play last summer (08) put on a performance
of The Phantom Tollbooth and this is what came
into my head as an overture to get things going.
Set in future, the sense of foreboding drama
is immediate, but the music ends back in the
past with the ticking of a clock which is how
the play begins.
